I'm Jason Kunkel.
I'm not just a REALTOR®; I'm a fervent advocate for building stronger communities through real estate.

I have been licensed for 15 years with a focus on the residential marketplace. My top priority is building inclusive and welcoming communities for everyone. As a leader, I value collaboration and strive to ensure that all voices are heard and that consensus is reached when solving problems. I strongly advocate for our industry, private property rights, and marginalized groups. If elected as a director, I will be committed to improving our Association's communication with its members, reinforcing our industry expertise in the community, and working with elected officials to enhance housing opportunities for all.

Accomplishments

Raised awareness of RPAC and the REALTOR® Party’s role through presentations at brokerage offices. This led to a 14% increase in membership participation and more than 900 first-time RPAC investors.

Oversaw the annual fundraiser for the RPAC Committee, which had a record attendance and raised a record-breaking $38,000 in contributions to RPAC.

Coordinated with the Advocacy Committee to retool candidate screening procedures and ensure a more thorough and transparent vetting process for RPAC candidate interviews.

Brought in Pulitzer Prize-winning investigative journalist Bill Dedman to discuss Long Island Divided, an investigation into housing discrimination in New York, which provided REALTORS® an opportunity to examine their practices and identify areas for improvement.

Created "Multicultural Connections: A Networking Event" to bring members of diverse communities together to network, share their experiences, and raise awareness of implicit bias.

Why I'm Running
I am running to build upon our strategic plan, strengthen our voice, and increase our engagement with our membership and the communities we serve. I will utilize my leadership skills to focus on three of our Association’s priorities.

Engagement – expand our communication to membership through use of roundtables, making better use of the communication resources available, and introducing new resources to help our members.

Community – strengthen community partnerships and advocacy efforts by leveraging existing relationships and utilizing NAR grants

Inclusion – internally, creating a more welcoming association environment for all. Externally, working with elected officials and stakeholders to increase access to homeownership for all, focusing on accessibility, affordability, and availability.
